I'm working on a presentation I have to do for my Arabic class. I'm trying to say "50,000 people live in my city." I know that I have to say "person" instead of "people" since it's a large number. Does that mean that the word "live" will be third person singular, or do I still need third person plural?

TIA!

I believe you are correct, you would use "yaskun" (yaskunu if you are vocalizing). I presume the presentation will be in fusha/modern standard and not in a dialect?

what is your presentation about?

Thank you! This is part of the final for an Arabic 141 class I'm taking. We have to do a 50-question multiple-choice test, a 3-5 minute recorded presentation about either our family or our hometown, AND a 150-250 word essay about a trip. YIKES!
