I saw this while at the Y tonight, and just had SUCH a great laugh.

i am always inspired by prison-break stories. the shawshank redemption rocks me, reading the fifth sacred thing moved me to new spiritual heights!

but this story is AWESOME! i LOVE when something this simple can come about, it touches my 'triumph of the human spirit' button.

cheers to this dude and his people! how resourceful and gutsy!

I wouldn't call it a "triumph of the human spirit" when a person is mistakenly released from prison who is there for a "mental evaluation" for beating up an elderly person.

IMO, people SHOULD go to jail for beating the elderly and they SHOULD be mentally evaluated.

Not every prison break is a "Shawshank Redemption" some people ARE actually dangerous individuals or need psychological help.

i'm not joking. i'm not willing to guess about what he did or didn't 'do'. i'm too aware of media/police sensationalism. i don't know if/what/why he did whatever, i wasn't there.

i DO think it's awesome that he 'got out' on a fake fax. i think it is absolutely lovely.

but i am rather anti-prison anyway, so that kind of has to do with how i feel about it...

Police sensationalism?

It is a correctional facility and Psychiatric center.

He was there for a mental evaluation. What 19 year old beats an elderly person?

You don't think he might need psychological help?

seriously, i'm hardly willing to speculate. i wasn't there. i don't know any of those people.

maybe you don't see the appeal of what i'm into, that's ok. but i'm ok with my stance on it. i had a pickle of a time watching those old sterile news people just ranting and raving and going on and on and on and on, playing the old blame game, not being able to see anything but how to be scared.

the news is a rarity for me. i prefer to work out without the TVs, but i really wanted to be on the step/cycle thingie, and darn if it wasn't RIGHT in front of a TV!

No..I don't.

I don't see this as a "blame game" he harmed an elderly person, he was receiving psychological care (which he NEEDS) and his "friends" got him out. That's horrid!

How would you feel if the man who got out was a child rapist? Would you still be cheering him on? : What he was convicted of is no less horrendous, imo.

I do find it amusing how "great" the system is that someone was able to get out on a fake fax. You (well, I) can appreciate how craptasticly the system dropped the ball on this one and still find what the guy did appalling. JMNSHO

i do find it hilarious because of how ridiculous it seems that that could possibly have gotten by, sheesh!!
:

but not saying what he is accused of is good, nor that he shouldnt be in some sort of trouble for it.

and i wouldnt compare someone assaulting another person anywhere near the same as someone raping a child, sorry.

It's wrong. What he did was wrong. Period. Maybe comparing it to a child rapist was a bit extreme, but still. He assaulted a defensless person,an elderly person. I find nothing hilarious about it. What if it had been your grandmother or grandfather he assualted? Would you be laughing how he got out so easily? Chances are, that elderly person he assaulted *is* someones parent/grandparent

I see nothing hilarious about this. In fact,it is pretty scary, actually, how easily he got out. :
