I don't get it. I know he must have been annoyed to death about the rocks(I wonder why the kids targeted him in the first place) but how did he think pulling a shotgun was proper retaliation?
: The man had already thrown a brick at a small child... ummm.. .wouldn't that be a good enough reason to check and see if he had any guns?
I don't see that being enough to worry about a gun. Honestly that could have been a momment of stupidity. I do wonder what else was going on triggering the kids to throw rocks and why the parents didn't stop it. BUT No matter how much of a jerk the guy is those kids were throwing rocks at him and that is wrong. Besides damaging his property they could have potentially hurt him. Rocks can be conciderd deadly weapons. Time to time kids have seriously hurt and killed each other.
No he shouldn't have shot this kid. At the same time the kid shouldn't have been throwing rocks. All the rock throwers parents should be held accountable for their children's repeated violent.

Your response really surprises me. Did you see that he not only shot at the boy, but killed him? A 9-year old boy. I'm sorry... but rocks and guns are not on the same playing field... especially a rock in the hand of a 9 year old vs. a gun in the hand of a 50 year old man.
