Texas and Illinios have passed bills enacting it, and Florida is next. The feds have made provisions to provide national funding under the No Child Left Behind Act and there is an "advisory board" investigating ways to impliment it, nationwide. Of course, those that are on the board include the CEO of Lily, and 2 marketing executives from Glaxo-Welcome.

:LOL

Yeah, there have been thread about it before but it doesn't mean it cannot be discussed again since it is now being enforced in some areas.

It is horrific and shocking.

I didn't post links in a "pipe down over there!" way - just to reassure you that people had noticed & did care 'cause I get really upset when I post a link & nobody cares!

For some reason, the Illinois Leader (IL GOP news svc) is one of the only ones following this. A recent article, including info on an Indiana challenge:

http://illinoisleader.com/news/newsview.asp?c=26341

Based on the article, it might be useful to include a letter in a child's school file specifically stating that you do not give permission for them to undergo mental health screening/testing without your prior knowledge and express written consent. I know I will be doing this.

Edited to add - found another article on this in the Leader:
