Hey ladies-the month is half over and we have no thread! Things have been hectic here, but I am still plugging away. I am not getting on the scale until Monday, but at last check I was 141 and started at 157 on Jan 1. Getting closer to my goal! What is going on with you????

Hi! I'm still plugging along on my half ETL/half McDougall way of eating, too. I'm not trying to lose weight anymore, though, because my body seems to be telling me that it is happy being ten pounds over where Dr. F says I should be. That's fine with me. It's all about health for me now.

Sounds like you're doing great with your weight loss!

Hi there ladies,

checking in with you! I'm fairly new to E2L, though I'm vegan (ok, since a few months after having been vegetarian for only a few months b4 that ).
I don't have to lose any weight per se (I'm 5'8 and currently 127 lbs; it's the weight I'm mostly sticking around naturally, it ranges from 124-128) but I'd like to eat even more healthy than I am already and love the concept of E2L. (Which quite honestly I'm not sure if it's that much of a difference from a 'normal' vegan lifestyle?)

Anyway, long story short, I just love to join in here to connect with others who live the same eating 'lifestyle' and possibly also for exchanging some recipes etc?

Looking forward to get to know you!

Fell off the wagon big time! We are redoing our kitchen, so we've been eating out a lot and eating a lot of "quick" food. I feel like total dog crap though. Today is my day to get back on the wagon.

Waaaaah! Where is everybody! Too chicken to start the April thread so I'm just bumping this one up a bit.

I have grand plans of getting back into ETL. I had a m/c recently and have been wallowing in self pity and loathing and I really think that getting back on track ETL wise will help me feel better - physically and mentally. Sounds trite, yes, but it's so true!

Is anybody out there?!?!?

First of all (((Hugs))) to you. I'm very sorry about your m/c!!!

I fell off the wagon myself a bit; MIL was here for the past 10 days and it was quite hard, finding a middle ground at least on what to eat since she's really sceptical of food she never ate *roll eyes* and doesn't care for healthy food..:

One 'prob' I have with ETL is that ever since I started, I a) not only didn't lose any weight [granted, according to the book I'm right where I should be] but b) I suddenly am constipated (sorry for the TMI) and have to deal with gas much more! I don't get it at all! With all the fiber one would think it makes me more regular, but nope..
Anyone had this happen too? Does it go away after a while?

For right now I'm back to having a cup of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice + oatmeal for BF instead of 100% only fruit.. It seems to make a difference for me at least in regards to the prob # b...

Hi, everyone! This is my second week back on E2L after falling off big time due to a hyperemesis pregnancy. I'm back where I was when I stared E2L the first time. I lost 50lbs the first go around but I let my nutrition slip and wasn't eating enough or getting enough nutrients. So, this time around I am going to make sure to do it better plus I'm bf'ing my almost 18mths old and will be for a long while hopefully and I can't afford to lose my milk supply ect.
I've only lost maybe 3 lbs so far but I am trying to take it off slowly due to bf'ing. I know I lost at least 20lbs the first 6 weeks last time I did it but I don't think that's wise while bf'ing what's everyone else's thoughts on that?

What I love most about this way of eating is that it truly isn't a diet.

I am still in the mourning faze though and do think about all the yummies I shouldn't eat but I know that will get better with time. And how much preparation and time this way of eating takes (it's well worth it of course). It makes me realise how much our emotions are connected to food. I would love to have others to share the struggles and truimps with.

Hello! I'm back too. I fell off the wagon for about 4 months, and have felt like crap. I'm back on again now and even re-reading the book. I'm hoping to fit into my "fat" clothes from last summer at least! Wow I've been eating awful.

Hope this thread gets up and running more so I can check in for support (giving and receiving!)

I hope more people post too. I'd love to know everyone's favorite e2l recipe.

I made the red lentil sauce last night and it was so so. It was really sweet and I think it would have been better w/o the carrot juice or mixed half and half with veggie broth.
