Yay, I started the new thread. It is Dec. Man how time flies when you are busy. Tomorrow is H's b-day. So we have a lot to do. I need to go to the store but we have frozen rain so I really don't want to go out.

Is everyone staying warm?

Hiya! Maggie was born March 9. What a handful! She is in great health and good spirits, unless you count the MELTdown this morning when we put her in the lap of a fat man with a fake beard and a red polyester suit. Poor guy, he felt so responsible, and to be honest, I only went down there to hang out with my sister while she got her kid's Xmas pics. I could have cared less.

We're eating pretty much everything the same, other than meat and nuts. So far so good, and she LOVES broccoli. I think it's the stem that she can use as a handle. Yesterday was our last good nursing session, and we're both probably okay with it - I was BFAR so there wasn't a lot there to begin with, and work-related travel and getting my period again didn't help.

She has two teeth on the bottom and is working towards one on top, crawls everywhere like a champ, and yesterday stood up for a couple of seconds all by herself. (Uh-oh)

Here's a link to a pic or two.

We got a bunch of snow! Ruby loves looking at it. We bundled her up (it took forever) and took her out in the snow. She was so stiff in all her clothes, she just sat on the snow and then plopped backwards and just lay there. It was hilarious. But it was too cold and her mittens kept coming off. So after 20 minutes of bundling her up, she spent all of 10 minutes outside and came back in.

She's getting so aware of things now. She loves making clicking noises with her tongue. She likes to watch her hands while she turns them up and down. She waves all the time now.

Also my non-crawler has finally decided that it's time to crawl. Funny that he's been cruising for a couple of weeks now but just figured out the crawling thing this morning.

Hey Mamas,

Baby P just turned 8 months! (Bday 3/29)
-He's standing really well, hanging on with just one hand, moving around while hanging on, but can't stand on his own.
-4 teeth, and two more coming in on top. He's eating a small amount of solids, but mostly bf still.
-He's having trouble sleeping! We are back to the middle of the night feeding, which hasn't been the case since he was maybe 3 months!!! Not sure why. Maybe teething, or going to sleep earlier.
-He also seems to be starting the separation anxiety. Watches me and dh the whole time when we go, and won't let strangers hold him as easily as before.
-He says "mama" and "dada" to us - how cute!!! Sometimes just babbling, but other times he says it as he's crawling to us or if he wants to be picked up.
-I had a total meltdown last week, think the sleep deprivation is finally taking the last of my mental capacity.... but better this week....
-not much new other than that - how's everyone else doing?

Major teething whining and crying this week. I can definitely see two swollen white bumps on top...I think she'll get those first! If so, I'm gonna call her my little bunny! She's been glued to me the past couple of days.

On a VERY happy note, DD is now sleeping through the night!!!!!!! : 10.5 hours straight the last two nights!!!!! She's been sleeping at least 6 hours straight for several weeks...except around Thanksgiving, when she had a cold. This is soooooo exciting!!!! And we got there without CIO, thank you very much Dr. Pediatrician!!!!

I'm just now getting over a cold. Not sure if it's the same one DD had over Thanksgiving, but hoping it is so she doesn't get sick again.

DD, too, is having major stranger anxiety and gets upset if someone other than mommy or daddy gets too close or touches her. Forget about someone else holding her! She'll have none of that! It'll be interesting when Grammy, uncle, and auntie come for Christmas. She hasn't seen them since she was 6 weeks old.

Oh my god, you are so lucky. Ruby slept 8 hours in a row a couple days ago and then once about 3 weeks ago. And for about a week when she was about 3 months old. Every night I make a wish...

Farmingmom, is he/she biting you yet? My babe had 8 teeth by 6 months and just recently decided to use them to bite me. And she thinks it's hilarious no matter how stern I get, or how loud I yell. Lately, she hasn't been doing it as much, but last week it was getting very annoying. And holy cow, those little teeth are sharp sharp sharp!

Wow didkisa!!! That's terrific about sleeping through the night!

Didkisa and jo, you both posted such cute knitted creations on the last thread.. I didn't get a chance to tell you how great those were! I'm impressed!

DS still wakes up every 2-3 hours, but I think it's going to get better soon. I'm feeling optimistic about it.

He has become quite mobile finally and wants to be down on the floor free to roam. He has no interest in playing w/ baby toys. He is totally happy if he manages to get into something that he's not supposed to get into, like the cat fur pieces that congregate on the floor even though I vacuum all the friggin' time.

He claps when we clap, he clicks his tongue when he hears the car turn signal, and if someone shakes their head "no" at him, he shakes his head back at them and laughs riotously. I'm in trouble I think.

Hope you all are doing well... I love this time of year!!

Sheal, so Bry was due in May but born in March? I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but what is a pda?

Don't you just love those giggles? Nothing better than a giggling baby!
