so far in the maternity stores I have been in, along the lines of bathing suits..I have seen bikini bottoms, and then one pieces.Ii plan on showing off my belly, and was wondering why no bikini tops? Is there something I don't know? Should I just be looking for a top that fits and is supportive enough, then buy a maternity bottom? I feel like I am missing something obvious here.

Also, if you just buy a top and bottom separate and then mix and match..and brands that you know of that make bikini tops that are supportive, and good looking?

I've never found one with enough support in the bust part!! I ended up getting a tankini in a larger size from a normal swim shop - that way it can ride up my belly as it needs to and not worry about it pulling!

Wouldn't a regular bikini work? You might need a slightly larger size if you've grown anywhere other than your belly, but otherwise, if you've got the body for it, go ahead and wear that bikini!

I bought a bikini when my first son was 2 months old and had to get a bigger size on top because of breastfeeding, but the bottoms were the same size as pre-preg (I lost my baby weight FAST!)

i plan on just wearing a regular bikini also. at the rate i am going i think i will find one to fit. and probably yes, just that the bottoms are special cause of the bigger belly but big boobs are big boobs. haha.

i hate that i have to buy things that i probably won't wear again til i have another baby in say, 5 years.

I saw some tankini's in Target maternity section. I think that's what I'll do for this summer. I'm just not a bikini girl pg or not, but I hate the look of those maternity one-pieces. Pretty sure Old Navy has maternity tankinis too. But I suspect just a bikini would work!

I just wore a larger size regular bikini with DD. This time I'm feeling a little more modest though. Last year they had some cute one-piece maternity suits at Old Navy. The issue I've had though with all maternity one-pieces and tankinis is that I need more bust support - anyone found a more modest maternity suit that actually has some support?

I could have worn my regular bikini last time I was pg and probably this time, too. You probably don't see maternity bikinis because there wouldn't really be anything different about them. I prefer to cover my big belly, like it seems most pg mamas do! And chasing a toddler around, I don't really want a bikini anyway. I like the skirt bottoms with tankini tops and then I wear a rash guard. We live in FL and are out in the water all summer.

My problem now is finding a rash guard big enough to go over my belly! I may end up cutting my old one in the belly area so it will fit, which I hate to do because they are expensive.

Ugh, don't remind me. I started out pretty fluffy and am NOT looking forward to buying a swimsuit! I'm currently in denial mode,
: but at some point I will have to buy one.

I bought a regular bikini from Target the other day. But, I did have to buy an xl in bottoms! Ce la vie. Last time I was pg all I could do was aquatic exersize, and after awhile the other moms in my pg class kept looking at me wierd for wearing a bikini, so I went out and bought a materntiy suit that covered all of me. This time, it is more acceptable to show off the belly, so that is what I am going to do! I am turning 30 right after the baby comes, so I am feeling a little like this is the last year of my youth (I know, go ahead and throw a tomatoe at me!). I keep thinking something happens when you turn 30, like you gave to stop wearing bikinis, lol

I thought the same thing until I turned 30 in Feb. I'm still here and did not explode into an elderly lady. I will be sporting my bikini, if it still cover my growing booty, that is

I swore those were two words I NEVER wanted to say in the same sentence: Maternity swimsuit!!!!!!

Sadly, it's becoming apparent that I'm GOING to have to bite the bullet and actually buy and WEAR one of these things

I saw some cute tankinis at Old Navy online....They're on sale right now for $15 each piece.....I think I might go ahead and buy one. (begrudgingly!
