Hey all - just thought an intro was in order. Baby is still dancing around so I doubt we'll be birthing imminently, but certainly could be a June baby - I changed midwives mid-preg. and my due dates have been July 1st, 3rd, or 4th
We're staying home (in the hot tub!) with the doula for as long as possible, and then heading over to the MW friendly hospital to get into the birth tub there. I spent hours doing farm chores today, finishing my herb garden, picking up our doeling that got disbudded - I think my nesting hormones are starting to kick in! Hugs, Shannon

Hi Shannon!!

Welcome to the June board. We're a chatty bunch (and birthin' babies all over the place this week, it seems). The main action takes place in the weekly threads, as you've probably noticed.
Kick back and join in

We'll cross our fingers that you end up a June mamma, and that none of us end up July ones for that matter!

Welcome to our group!

What exactly is a doeling? Like a baby deer, or a goat? Now I'm curious about your farm life....

Goats: doe, doeling, buck, buckling, and a castrated little boy is a wether.... We keep Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats and they're adorable. Dharma had twins this year, but the other never made it out of the amniotic sack, so we had to assume it probably never moved and was stillborn. Her one baby is feisty though! We named her Esmerelda (every year is a diff. letter here) I'd love to up our milk supply and get bigger goats, but then we might have to sell off some kids for meat - right now we can always sell the Nigies as 4-H "petS"

You are bringing back my childhood...we had a goat (for milk) and I think she was an Alpine? One year we had her bred and she had twin bucklings...it was sad because we wanted more goats for milk, but you don't get alot of milk from boys

So somebody bought them for meat after we'd become quite attatched

Baby goats play cuter than any other animal, i've decided!
