Remember my "instinct" post?

Copied from my blog:

I lost some blood this afternoon, and called my dad. He said to get it checked out, because it wasn't really something that was "right" for this stage.

I'm dialated to about 2 cms, 50% effaced at least. The first reaction was to keep me in the hospital, put me on bedrest and slowly increase activity if the bleeding stopped. Ideally they want to keep him a few more days, although there isn't any real reason for concern. I also was prescribed monitoring twice a day, to see how baby's keeping up in there.

Before transferring me to a room, they wanted to do the first monitoring. So I was hooked up, and on the walk to the monitoring room, I started getting BH's. While monitoring they turned out to be regular, about a minute or 2 apart, though not very strong or long yet.
After nearly two hours, they released me, and because of the regularity decided to keep me in a birthing room; they suspect it might be more than just some prodomal or false labor.

Edwin just went home to get some stuffs (I hadn't exactly been packing my bags yet, LOL!), and get the computer. Theoretically I should have internet access here, I just need my patient number to be able to log in. We'll see how that goes.

I have the impression that the ctx are getting some more intense and closer together, so while I went here under the impression that I was just going in for a check, I'm now starting to lean to "this might be it".

I'm feeling fine, and the docs don't seem to be the least worried, so I'm not either. If you don't hear from me for a day or so; well, you know where I'm at. Remember that it's 8.30 pm here now, so the next 12 hours of radio silence don't have to mean much.

(Funny coincedence: May 29th is the date on which Edwin and I moved in together 4 years ago . Who knows if it will turn out to be an even more special date!)

I hope everything goes exactly as it should for you and your baby!

Your dad is a doctor, right? Am I remembering that from the right person?

I think it would be a lovely "anniversary" gift for your relationship if your baby chose to join you on the 29th. Your due date is so close to mine that I'm sure you were hoping/expecting a baby born after June 1st (37 weeks), but, like you say, we are really so very close now. I'm sure things will be fine!

How nice your computer works! If you are stuck in the hospital for very long, you will have all of us to keep you company.

Just an update for you guys

May. 29th, 2007 | 10:50 am
feeling: exhausted

We're home.

They thought it better if I wait things out in a familiar environment, and to rest some there. I'm on strict bedrest orders, only allowed to move for bathroom breaks and showers. I'm exhausted. I slept like dookie. The contractions keep on coming, but they're not moving closer together or becoming stronger right now.

I'm to come in if things change only the slightest bit.

So I'm going to do as I'm prescribed (literally by the obgyn): go home, rest and keep the little one in for just 3 more days. After that I'm cleared to do whatever I please.

I may not be on a lot the coming days; the way I'm feeling right now is not exactly making me feel like doing much.
