According to the local news there have been a whopping 5 cases of measles in the area- and they listed possible exposure sites-

"Virginia Exposure Sites Sunday, April 5

Saigon Saigon Restaurant (Pentagon Row), 1101 S. Joyce Street 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Harris Teeter (Pentagon Row), 900 Army Navy Drive 9 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
People who were at any of these locations on these dates and during the specified time may have been exposed to measles.

If you think you were at these sites at these times, call the Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline at (800) 533-4148."

I'm seriously considering calling the hotline and being like - "hey if you know of anymore exposure sites- let me know asap so i can get there w/ my kids pronto!!!"

Really! Share the measles.

And what are they going to do to the people who were exposed?

Inject them with the virus on top of them having gotten the real thing already? Makes sense to me.

Interesting. I was wondering when he next measles outbreak was going to be.
Hmm, I wouldn't mind my kids getting measles but I would like my son to finish the school year. He loves school and his teachers and friends so much, and he would be excluded during an outbreak due to his exemption. But it is a small private school so the odds are probably slim that that would happen. This summer though--bring 'em on!
Moving to H&H since this is about illness exposure rather than vaccines.

Yeah, I just saw this too! The health department actually has even more "exposure sites" listed. I'm like, what did they do, make the people they've identified with measles list everywhere they had been for 48 hours before they had symptoms or something?

Is it a Red Measles outbreak or Rubella (German Measles) ? My 8 yr old has Rubella right now. When I took her in to the Dr they said "oh its Rubella all right, keep her home, she's contagious" that was it
LOL

I did let the school know though that she has Rubella.
Also* she is fully vaxed
