I've measured dead on since 26wks. Today I was 5cm Less than I was a week ago. OB said probably because she dropped but we will do sono Friday to check fluid levels and size. The size part on the sono means nothing to me. Late sono w/ DD1 est birth weight of 6lb4oz and she was 8lb2oz and DD2 was going to be "lucky to break 6lbs" and was 8lb9oz at 39wks. I'm fine checking fluid levels. OB seemed not really concerned. Is that much of a change normal???<br><br>
Also, I am between 3-4cm dialated and 60% effaced, and she and I both can feel babe's head, so she is definately lowwww. I had GBS test today and will take 3 day to get it back so fingers crossed.

Same here! My midwife said it was just because I dropped too. She didn't suggest a sono though. Baby does feel lower, I guess. Different position than it had been for the last couple months too.

Ok whew. Glad it isn't just me. It's the drop. Mine have all done that. My mw said it's kinda pointless measuring in the last month except for anything drastically changed. (like 4 weeks or more off)<br><br>
Hope your sono doesn't stress you out more, and you get some good results! Sounds like once your contractions kick in you will be off and running though...crossing fingers for negative GBS for you!

Yep the drop. My measurements have been dropping the past few appts. They keep getting lower and lower every time she measures. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

This is good to know. At my 36 wk appt last wk, I had not changed in 2 wks and was measuring 34 wks. Babies dropping left and right!

<span>it probably just means baby has dropped into your pelvis, mine didn't do this and i was opposite to you measuring 41 cm at 36 weeks although mw never seemed concerned even though it kind of freaked me out a little.</span>

Thank you all for the reassurance! I never had this w/ my last two, so it's new to me. I can tell she is low though. Mainly cause I've been able to feel her head the last couple days when I check.<br><br>
Here's to hoping she stays put until Saturday when I am 37wks! (Or ideally about 39wks, lol).

And you are right, baby could be low and that is why you are measuring off....<br><br>
And no nookie for you and DH for the next few days till you get that GBS results in....otherwise I fear you will go into labor and they will treat you and/or baby as positive.

yep, i was going to suggest that it was probably the drop too. wow, i'm so excited for you momma. i don't think my LO has dropped yet. my ribs are still sore - lol.

If the test isn't back and I go into labor they will assume positive unless proven negative. So you are dead on there. I actually wondered about DTD, as FINALLY my sex drive is back up for the first time in months. We have been DTD without thinking much about it, because my first two were almost EDD or beyond. Now I am thinking I agree with you and I should sit tight and take it easy until that GBS test comes back. Could be as little as 48 hours, which I am hoping for. I'm still hoping she hangs out another couple weeks. Now that Dr said my cervix is so favorable, I suddenly feel totally not ready again, lol.

I never noticed one of those "hey, she has dropped!" kind of days. But she never really was torturing my ribs too much, so I have lucked out there. That being said, the grapefruit in the vagina feeling is a bit irritating, lol. Grass is always greener!!
