This is my forth pregnancy and I am almost 18wks. When I feel for the top of my fundus, it feels to me like it is measuring at 22wks. This is quite a bit of difference--Is this easy to confuse. I even had a nurse friend of mine feel for it and she said 22wks too. She doesn't work in the ob field so she is not really experience in it, but she has had a little training in it before. My doc hasn't felt for it at all-- He seems to be so rushy when he comes in the room. I have had an u/s at 12wks but he only measured the head- I never even saw arms or legs or nothing, but the baby was measuring a little small. -- I'm worried that I could be preg with twins. Is it possible for them not to show up on an u/s?

My midwife measures at every appointment but is quick to remind me that it is not until 20 weeks that the fundal height/#of weeks is suppossed to match up. Maybe your dr doesn't measure until 20 weeks? And when you say you feel for it, are you actually measuring it?
Take a tape measure and go from the top of your pubic bone to the top of your fundus (you probably already know that, though
). An actual measurement might give you a clearer idea.
And next visit request a measurement, maybe from the nurse beforehand and then the dr, if the nurse doesn't do it!

I am 'measuring' large for my gestation weeks too, but the GP said the same as an pp - it doesn't REALLY match up til about 20wks - its kind of a rule of thumb that for every finger below the belly button its on week less than 20 - so if its 4 below, you'd be at 16wks - BUT - like I said - its totally just a guesstimate.

My doc said we'll wait and see and just monitor - I may have gone thru a large growth spurt and may see no change for a few weeks. My u/s is May 4th so we'll know for sure then.
