X posted in "Im pregnant"....

Please re-assure me here.

Im 22 weeks. Measuring 26. When the first MW measured she said 28, the second said 26. They went with 26.

I have an anterior placenta. I have already had an US, about 2 weeks ago. because of the anterior placenta she could only see head on one side of belly, and feet/legs on the other side.

Is it possible there are actually 2 in there!??!

Also, we didnt hear 2 heartbeats, but we could only hear the Hb on the sides. We didnt hear them simutaneously, but they sounded different. down the bottom it sounded far away, then move to one side, it sounded clear, on the other side was very very clear. MW said she thought it sounded like a cord HB.

But the more i think of this the more I freak out....could there really be 2? Wouldnt my other pg symptoms be exaggerated? I had MS, but not severe, and only for 14 weeks. I have Heartburn, but not terrible....

Somebody please give me answers.

I'm also measuring very big for dates, but no twins here for sure. We had a us where they could see everything. My thoughts are running more to things like too much fluid or something similar. I'll be seeing my mw on Friday morning and hopefully find out for sure what's up then. The tech and doctor I saw for the us wouldn't tell me much other then just 1 in there, he is a boy and he is measuring right on for my lmp and when I know I O'd.

Well obviously, get an u/s. At 22 wks I was measuring much bigger than 4 weeks ahead. I ran constantly about 10-14 weeks over, I delivered my twins measuring 52wks and I was 35.

At that stage, a really good marker would be movement. If you are feeling simultaneous kicks under your ribs and at your hips, at 22 wks, I would be thinking twins.

It seems strange that the ultrasound machine couldn't see through your placenta. I also have an anterior placenta and had my 20-week scan yesterday and could see everything.

I don't blame you for wanting to find out. That's one surprise that I wouldn't want to have during labor. My aunt delivered surprise twins. Yikes!

I've been worried about twins too. But it's probably just one in there and I'm just paranoid. At my last appointment the midwife had a hard time finding a heartbeat (fetoscope) but heard it for 15 seconds. I never heard it. DH heard it for a little bit.
I thought the same thing last pregnancy and it was only one.

I guess that didn't really answer your question.

I feel kicks/punches/movement under my ribs as well as down right on my bladder. either this is one very big active baby, or yeah....2.

I have measured larger than normal for every baby so far, every time they've said the possibility of it being twins so I had an ultrasound to check and every time I was totally bummed to find out it's just one. Maybe someday I'll actually get twins!
