Dr told me yesterday at my appt that I'm measuring small!? ARGH!!! I've only gained 13 pounds this pregnancy but trust me gals...I eat like a horse. I used to be all picky about what I ate too pre pregnancy. Recently I've been binging on vanilla cookies and sweets of all kinds.
I told her...I have 8 pound babies..I'm not at all worried.
(if you've seen my belly pics you'll see I'm pooching out pretty far,not to mention I now have 3 stretch marks)

She says I'm measuring at 33 weeks! I'm amost 37 weeks now.
19 days and counting!!!
I'm always pretty small during pregnancy but now she ordered another US on the 28th. This will be my 3rd one. I don't really want to do it as I'm starting to wonder if there "really" is any long term effects from it to baby.

I was also scheduled for my section on Nov 10th. Why in the world would they schedule a section if they thought I was off by 4 weeks? I told her I had a +hpt in Feb.
I'm just really hoping that I will go into labor on my own before then. We will see how it goes. Theres no reason I shouldnt be able to get that HB I've wanted as long as it all kicks up on it's own.

I guess we will see how it goes.
thanks for letting me complain

Did they measure right (i.e. you get that measurement from more than one person?)? I've had bad measurements that way. Do your kids tend to have growth spurts? I sometimes measure under, and then catch it all up two weeks later.

I guess they would induce because they're worried about IUGR? Which would be pretty serious if it were a 5 week IUGR. But ultrasounds are very random when it comes to weight - they thought my daughter would be two lbs heavier than she actually was. I think the height at least might be reassuring though. Or not.

It sounds like your doctor needs to explain him/herself a bit more!

I measured 34cm last week & I only had 13 days to go ( today it is 10 ) Anyway, I 've had the MW check & this was the case the whole pregnancy with dd & I have gained 22 lbs. A lot of it depends on what position the babe is in! If babe is posterior or lying on its side, you may measure smaller then if say it is lying with its back out opposite yours. & They are always moving still / My guy tends to go posterior when she measures as I lay on my back & her hans are VERY COLD!!!
Don't worry Mama! Every womans body is different & you may just be one that measures small like me

I measured 33cm at 36 1/2 weeks, too. My midwive didn't blink at this- since my pattern has been to consistently grow a bit between every visit. Baby feels a little on the small side (and my midwife agrees from palpating), but so is a lot of my family. It was also OP when I was measured, so another reason for measuring small.

Lots of docs like to do routine third trimester ultrasounds now- and usually use an excuse like checking presentation, or worried about size (too big or too small) so that they can get it covered or billed for. I think that abdominal palpation skills are really being used less and less in favour of ultrasound. The ultrasound is a cover your ass obstetrics thing a lot of the time.

If you feel good about the baby's growth and size, you can certainly decline. Or at least ask your doctor for a better explanation. Good luck

I just re-read my post...It was sort of allover the place, sorry about that. LOL

I was pretty much trying to say that I didn't want to have her in 19 days if she was going to be too early.

I guess it probably is from her being breech. I'm trying to not let it bother me too much. I guess we will see what the US measures her at this time.
With DS and DD they told me they'd be 5-6 pounds and they were 8!
DD was almost 9.

My next appt is the 28th...same day as US. I will be making a long list of questions to be answered.
As for the growth spurts...that's also a possibility.
