Hi,

We are considering a move to AZ. We have discovered that all states do not seem to be equal in how much companies will typically contribute toward a medical insurance plan. We moved from a state in the northeast in which it was the norm for companies to contribute either all or most of the cost of health insurance. I am not sure if this is something regulated by state law or just how things have always been done. We are wondering how things are in Arizona, as this is really important to us in making this decision to move.
We really appreciate any help with this.

Thanks!

It really depends on the compnay. Some companies will cover everything, some only 10% (or some other ridiculously low amount). I don't think there is any kind of requirements for companies regarding insurance mandated by the state.

Depends totally on the company. Avoid the public education field here, the school districts pay very little in health benefits (to add spouse/children it's 500-800 a MONTH in most districts). The state offers good insurance. There is also Arizona KidsCare for low-to-middle income families that provides subsidized insurance for kids.

Good luck!
