I have mild skin darkening on my face from using birth control pills (no more!). I am pregnant, so the doctor wants to have me see the derm. after the baby is born, in case the patches get worse from the preg. It hasn't happened, and the baby was due a week and a half ago.

I have very light, slightly sensitive, oily skin. The pigmentation is not very dark, but it really bothers me.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has any luck treating this on themselves. I do not want to use hydroquinone (sp?). I have tried the over-the counter HQ cream (before pg), and, maybe I'm just paranoid, but I thought it felt wierd. You aren't supposed to use it for more than six weeks continuously, which makes me really nervous.

Someone told me to use Young Living essential oils "Gentle Baby", but my husband couldn't stand the smell, so it was a problem.

There are so many natural product out there for this, but I don't know which work and can't find reviews. I don't mind spending money, but would like to see improvement and not make a huge investment trying a new product every month.

Also, any presciption I could ask the derm. about when I see her/him?

T Any ideas on how to shake this baby down? Would an enema help?

Thanks, Stephanie

You cant or shouldnt use hydroquinine (sp?) while nursing..... I went to a derm and thats what he told me, that i had to wait until I weaned. The woman who does my facials told me its really harsh on the skin, esp the face, which is probably why you only use it for 2 mos.

SO.....I just got some DermaE......I found it at www.vitacost.com they have a website too www.dermaE.net .....found an add for it in Mothering. Its also sold at alot of health food stores, but vitacost had it for alot cheaper, even with shipping. All natural ingredients. Ive only been using it about a month or so and it seems to be lightening. It said it would take about 3-4 weeks to show some improvement. You also should stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen, as the sun makes it worse. I did alot of water aerobics while pregnant, so thats what I attribute it to. It appeared soon after dds birth.
