Yeah. It is an ingenious way of making something look solid when it is really a collection of weak scraps.
This is a brushwood "**" where twigs are tied together. Put that on your knee and it's unsnappable.
But if you take the strings off, you can break each twig in half one by one, until the bundle is broken.
In Medicine, a ** fallacy is where lots of small piece of information, which of themselves don't mean much, are bundled as a "consensus". They call this a "body of information". The ** are unbreakable because they don't let you untie it, and most of it isn't viewable. Hard to read those bits of medical info when they are bundled into a ** and obscured from view.
OK - it is f*a*g*g*o*t, British slang for a meatball. The word comes from the Latin fascia, impressions and pictures of which are all over the Capitol buildings, especially Congress.
