Hi,

Early this morning I started having light menstrual like cramping. It lasted a few hours I'm guessing. The baby was also having a solo soccer match in there at the same time. I also had a few contractions. I kept wondering if this meant I was going to start labor or maybe my body is just getting ready for birth. At my midwife appointment earlier this week I ended up having the midwife check me and the baby's head was really low but my cervix was high, long, and closed.
Anyway, has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

I've felt crampy on and off this entire pregnancy and my BH are *very* crampy and have been for months.

Your body is probably just getting ready for the big day, but I don't necessarily think this is an indicator of of when labor will come.

Speaking of, I'm having a crampy BH right now

Me too. I had lots of menstrul like cramps last night and some spotting last week. My OB examined me last week and told me I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced but I don't thinks that really means a lot. I'm 37 weeks now.

I have also been crampy throughout this pregnancy. I think I was last time also. I mean, just sitting here, if I ignore the fact that there is a big huge belly, i would think I was about to start my period. It is just a heavy, which makes some sense, crampy feeling. I know at the beginning they say not to worry about it because it is your uterus growing. Well, it is still growing so I guess it is alright that it still feels a little crampy.

Yep, I had this too, starting just a couple days ago. I also had my cervix checked and I too am high and thick, so probably no baby any time soon. Our bodies are getting ready for the big day!

With both of my girls when I got that true menstrual-like cramping (very different for me than BH), they were born the same day!

Just because when you were checked before and nothing much was happening, it doesn't mean anything.

It is so hard to tell "when" (could be today, could be in a few weeks) unfortunately! Definitely normal, though!
