Hi there! My name is Erika, and I have had 2 previous csections. I live in the Detroit area, but will travel as far as needed for a good midwife who will give me my Vba2c!

My first was a twin birth, so I was tricked into thinking I had too have one. I know I could have went vaginally.

My second was emergency after not feeling my son move all day. I went in and they tried to induce after failing almost all of the biophysical profile. His heart rate kept dropping, and so they went csection after threatening to call child protective services if I didnt (I did NOT want this to be another csection out of convienence. I wanted my Vbac!). I know it was the right choice, but it was a hard one. He had the cord around his neck twice, and a true knot in it.

So here I am now. Not pregnant, but I do want to be at some point. I need to find someone who will help me next time around. I want to have her all set ahead of time. I dont want to be looking AFTER the fact. I know I can do it. I am good at tolerating pain. I am tough. I am determined. I need to find someone who I can talk to about this, and who knows I can do it, and is positvie about it.

I have a tendancy to go late That is my main concern, please, let me know if this is a problem, and what we can do about it. My twins came at 40 weeks 1 day after not dialating or effacing at all! Joshua was 39 weeks 5 days, I was 30 percent and dialated to 1, which was good, but he still would have been late, im sure.

I need help. Anyone who would be willing to work with me, help answer questions, suggest anyone, ect, please reply. If midwifes would be more interested in talking over the phone, I would happily give my number privatley. Thanks so much in advance!

Hi Erika

Are you looking for a homebirth or hospital birth?

You should be able to find a homebirth midwife that will do VBA2C. Finding a care provider for a hospital birth might be a little tougher but they are still out there.

Stacia (Defenestrator) is an Ann Arbor midwife and posts on this list. I'm not sure if she does VBA2C but you could PM her and ask!

Other resources you might want to check out are
www.birthnetwork.org
www.michiganmidwives.org

Henci Goer is speaking Sat, May 5th in Lansing on VBACs. You can find info on the michigan midwives site.

HTH!

Im not sure how far you are from Taylor but you could call and talk to either Bridgett or Linda at The Birth Place. They do homebirths and I think they might go out that far.

I am a vba2c, and am using Kathy Kleinert in Livonia. She became a DO after being a midwife for a long time. She does homebirths.

Hi..I don't know if I can be much more than moral support as I catch babies in the far end of the UP but having a v/bac # 2 is not a problem in my book IF mom and baby are healthy and well prepared. Sometimes c/sec is a necessary evil, as you well know with birth #2 ( I had one with #3-breech with hydrocephalus) and worried myself about it for a very long time, but finally made peace with the fact that she probably wouldn't have made it without the cut. Sometimes God says"not this time".. However, there are many fine midwives in Michigan and I'm sure you'll be able to fine someone, when the time comes. Good thoughts to you!!
