Microwave Bacon

DBF has many horrid eating habits, which I'm working on, but the one I've noticed getting even more common lately is that microwave bacon that they sell now
. Am I the only one who is terrified of what they use to make it crisp like that? I'd really like to figure out what it is, and hopefully convince him that it's not so great too. Anyone have any ideas on how they do that/how to convince him it's not a great thing to eat? He's far from a health food person, and even though he knows that it can't be good for him, he also doesn't think that it's that bad for him...

Do you mean the Schneiders fully cooked bacon that is packaged to be shelf stable (no refridgeration required until opening) - microwaves in a few seconds?

I think the fact that it is shelf stable bacon should be enough...

Not sure how it's made to be crispy. A chef's trick to make crispy bacon is to deep-fry it. That's a possibility.
I'd take a different approach, by buying really nice bacon and making dbf breakfast. Enjoy breakfast together, and eventually you can turn the conversation to how nice it is to eat this wholesome nutritious food, and how much better REAL bacon tastes, and tell him how much you'd like to avoid frankenfoods, and would he be on board with moving toward that goal as well?
I've never seen microwave bacon, but I definitely have microwaved regular bacon. It can be messy, but works in a pinch when you are short on time (or free pans/oven space).

Maybe suggest that? You just need a large plate or microwave safe dish and papertowels. I prefer to cook my bacon in a skillet/pan, but sometimes use the broiler or microwave.

He does have regular bacon, he just doesn't think ahead enough about meals and ends up scarfing something down quickly before he runs out the door to work. I'm really not a morning person, and completely useless to make breakfast, plus I don't eat bacon, so to be honest I've never once cooked it.

He's slowly eating better things, he just doesn't see what's wrong with his fast food and beer...everyday. He notices the weight he's put on, he knows it's not good for him, but he likes it so he doesn't really care. He loves when I cook something, or bake bread, or anything really that I make but if he's on his own pretty much 100% of the time its Kraft Dinner or a frozen pizza etc.
