I am curious to know of what's considered normal.

I've read that it is a great indication of fertility - just near ovulation. When our hormones shift just prior to the release of the egg, we shed a bit of blood.

Does anyone experience like 2-3 days of blood-tinged cf right around ovulation? Or is just 1 day more of the norm? Anyone got pregnant with this phenomenon?

Very curious....

Never having it before, I began to have mid-cycle spotting about a year and a half ago. Turns out I had a uterine polyp. If you've always had the spotting, it's fine and normal. But for me, it was a new occurance, and had it checked out.

I had mid-cycle spotting last cycle.. I also have only had a few periods since they returned and I am still nursing. Anyway it was CD 20 and it was very light brownish spotting for 2-3 days. My period finally came on CD 39. I have no idea if I am ovulating.

Thanks guys. Bamboogrrrl, how did you discover them (other symptoms) and what did you do about them?

Personally, I have had a handful of these types of cycles, and they "feel" extremely fertile to me. Meaning, I have plenty of ewcf, and the timing is spot on for O.

This current cycle was weird, though. I had ew with some tinges of blood on day 9, then day 10 was kind of creamy, then day 11 I broke a record with 10" + ew (took advantage within hours), and now today is day 12 and the quality of cf is down. I am sure I ovulated early this morning. So I am praying we, "he" nailed it :LOL.

Bluedragonfly: I had it checked out by my gyn. He did a saline sonogram. Not a big deal. Had them removed in same-day, general anesthesia surgery. Again, not a huge deal. Apparently, uterine polyps can prevent conception. But here we are a year later, and am still not knocked up. Sigh.
Like I said before, my mid-cycle bleeding was very unusual for me, which is why I wanted to find out more.

I wish you loads of luck for pregnancy, Bamboogrrrl.

I was wondering if your midcycle bleeding was substantial, or scant, 1 day or longer? And did you have any other symptoms, such as painful sex etc.

I hope this isn't too personal. I just think it's important information.

Thanks, and major baby dust to you -

Bluedragonfly: My mid-cycle bleeding was pretty scant - pinkish brownish for a few days. It was just weird for me, so I had it checked out. There was no pain with sex.

I HAVE had ovarian cysts, and they have stopped me in my tracks the pain was so bad. Last summer,I had a gp bet me I had shingles because the pain from the cysts was so intense. Wrong! Interesting that it was so misdiagnosed. I could see how having sex could seriously aggrevate that pain.

Thanks for the dusting! Glad to help with your mystery.

In my mid twenties through my early thirties, I spotted midcycle often. Since I wasn't trying to conceive I had no idea about ovulation or any of the other indicators. It was just part of the "normal" picture for me. I don't anymore.

I think "normal" for most things about cycles needs to be measured against our own patterns. I wish I had been paying attention to normal for me before I started ttc.
