I need a midwife.

I have HMO illinois and I am very frustrated with my pcp who will not refer me to a midwife. I am so new at all of this.

Many HMOs do not require referrals for OB care... check to make sure that is not the case. Why will your Primary not refer you??? How bizarre.

If Oak Park is in you locale-- I have several good referrals. How far west are you?

I'm not sure of your insurance but Karen Barr and Noreen Prokuski catch at Rush Copley Medical Center, OMG Women's Healthcare has a midwife, Beth, that catches at Hinsdale, Patty and Shari from West Suburban Women's Health catch at Hinsdale too, and Therese Doyle at Alexian Brothers.
