Can anyone recommend or steer me away from any midwives in Northwest CT? We're looking for a midwife who will attend a home birth. We'll be having a VBAC and therefore, can't deliver at the birthing center nearby.

Thanks in advance!

congratz on the pregnacy and choosing homebirth!
i used elayne czia(sp ?) and she was awesome!!!!
also there are others out there too, but i can't think of them right now. elayne moved and i don't have her number handy, but i will try to come back and post it. if i don't feel free to email me at [email protected]
also if you are interested in getting to know more ap moms in the area let me know. i am a part of a great group of women called the nurture by nature network. at present the nnn is breaking up into smaller playgroups, but still a great bunch of women and great resources on homebirth,bf'ing and many other things

check out the united families for midwifery care page...
http://www.ufmidwiferycare.freeservers.com
they have a pretty comprehensive list of who in CT is doing homebirths. i'll also say that i think i remember someone saying that elayne czaja (who lisa mentioned, she's out of new hartford last i heard) does attend HBACs.
i'm using nancy farr and kim cash (who come highly recommended!), not sure if they do HBACs, but i know they are willing to travel.
good luck in your search!
