My friend who is pregnant for the 2nd time (1st she miscarried) is considering going for a midwife. After her sister and I sang the praises of natural childbirth she's going from not understanding why everyone DOESN'T get a c-section to wanting a midwife. She's looking for someone in queens, I had gone to Dale Cook in LI but it is too far for her. If you have any good experiences with midwives in Queens, please send the info over my way
TIA

i went with jeanette breen. she's on LI too, but her office is in nassau county and she does births at 3 hospitals (and home, of course). we moved to the bronx during my last pregnancy, and i didn't mind traveling a little bit once a month, and she didn't mind traveling to my house for the birth. i love jeanette, she's attended two of my births and i wish i could take her with me when i move again.

I'm in NE Qns and I used Cara Muhlhahn. She did travel for visits here and I went to her office in Manhattan a few times too.

There's also a practice at Northshore hospital who has a midwife. The OB in that practice is Claudia Ravins. I don't remember the midwifes name though.
