So after some seaching around and some help from the lovely ladies on here, I found three midwife possibilites. The first is about a half an hour a way the other two are nearly an hour and an hour. DH and I interviewed the one closest to us first and we LOVE her. She's everything I'm looking for! So, given that, if it were you, would you still interview the other two or just be content with the one you found?
TIA!

If you really felt like you clicked with the first one, then why bother. But, if you have any doubts or concerns about that decision, go ahead and interview the others.

We interviewed one midwife team. The main midwife was far and above the most highly recommended (2nd midwife is newer and a CPM, I'd asked for CNM rec's) and we met with them and really liked them, so we just went with them. If it feels right, go for it.

Same with us. No need to interview others if you like the first one.

I think if you feel more comfortable exploring all your options, that there is no harm in doing so.

DH and I clicked with the first and only midwife we interviewed and we've been very happy with our choice so far. So it really depends on you and your husband, and what will make you feel like you've made the best choice.

Thanks for all your responses ladies! It's not that I have any doubts or concerns about the lady we interviewed. BUT the first interview is free so on the one hand I feel like we'd only be out time, gas, and energy for that one appointment and then I'd know for sure if our first lady is truly the one for me. On the otherhand I feel like, what's the point. There are any deal breakers - I totally LOVE her. The others would have to stand out in an extremely big way. DH is directionally impared and is thrilled he can find first lady's office. On the phone it seemed as though all three teams offer pretty similar things...oh I'm so in a quandry! Maybe I should just checkout the second team. I've heard only fabulous things about them...they just seemed less than thrilled about traveling up the hill for my birth - but I could be wrong...

I don't see any harm in interviewing the others. Who knows, you may like one of them more, or it may solidify your decision to choose the first one.

It never hurts... but I didn't. I liked my midwife, we seemed to click, so I just went with her. But I know people who have interviewed 9 even though they liked the first one best, and ended up hiring the first one, but just wanted to KNOW that she was the right one I guess. Either way works

This, exactly.

I say keep meeting new midwives. You will either find your initial feelings confirmed, or if not, then you will have more info from which to base a decision. Win win situation

Also, remember that midwives are 'interviewing' you as well....it is a two way thing to see how you connect with one another

I would. I felt like I clicked with a MW, then ended up feeling very later in pregnancy. I did find another midwife that I loved, but it would have been much easier if I had met with the other MWs in town earlier, I may have gone with one of the other MWs from the start, or I may have stuck with the first one, but I would have known the other MWs and not been calling around at 30 weeks.

I never did, but it wouldn't hurt if you felt you wanted to. Both times that I found a midwife, I hired the first person we interviewed because I was perfectly happy with the way the interview went.

I think in a lot of ways this is a gut decision, if you click and your gut says she's the one then why waste your time? If things change along the line you can always call those that you didn't interview now then.
