I'm not sure where to post this, but ...<br>
I have tested positive for GBS and have been doing some research to find out more about it. Searching the internet I've found (in a nutshell) that women who carry GBS in their systems for awhile form antibodies to it. These antibodies are then transmitted across the placenta to the baby during the last 8 weeks of pregnancy. Babies who are born with these antibodies have a much lower risk of getting GBS complications. I am wondering if there is a way to test for these antibodies. I'm assuming this would be done with a simple blood test, but my midwives have never heard of any tests like this. Do any of you have thoughts or experiance with this? I have one week before my due date and am desperately trying to find alternatives to IV antibiotics. Thanks!
