So I had a prenatal appt today and my cervix is effacing...is that the right term? Anyway it has thinned from it's normal 4cm and is almost 1cm...my cervix is still closed tight so that is good.

I have been instructed to take it easy for the next few weeks and to be a couch potato when I am home before and after work....yay!!!!!

Oh and I am also now bumping my last day at work up a few weeks so it will be June 17th...yay!!!!

My only worry is that we are doing a freestanding birth center birth which I am super excited for and I NEED to get to 37 weeks so please thoughts for baby waiting at least 2 more weeks!

Hi Sarah! I just wanted to let you know that I was one of those people who dialated really early and I never went into labor on my own (I was induced at past 40 weeks and I was almost 7 cm when I was induced). So take it easy. That little guy will hopefully hang out past 37 weeks for ya!

Well, I wouldn't get too excited. It's pretty common. I was 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced for over a month and went a week overdue (and was induced). So I'm sure you'll make it to 37 weeks, at least!

Huh...the backup OB said I was about 50% effaced and a fingertip dilated, but didn't seem worried that it meant delivery was in any way coming soon...I think it's pretty common. But, nothing wrong with having official permission to be a couch potato
