I recommend lots of early intervention for language, learn to sign ASL, get hearing aids, meet and join the Deaf community in your neck of the woods, find and research the Deaf schools and seek out people respectful of Deafness... be proactive!!

The only thing Deaf babies can't do is hear. Getting them access to *language* is your most important job, in my opinion!!

Also, how mild is mild? Can baby hear in the speech range? How old is baby and when was the diagnosis made?

It's going to mean a lot of extra work and learning for you... but your baby can be a happy and accomplished person --
