Hi all--Cully is 3 days old, my milk came in yesterday. He's a great nurser; just like my first. I am well versed in breastfeeding, but I've never experience this. I was laying down nursing him, and a few drops of milk came out of his nose. He didn't seem to notice it, but is this something to be concerned about?

ds4 has done this since day one....sometimes a LOT. pediatrician said it is good that it has come out of BOTH nostrils so we kne they were nice clear passages. I did try to "milk" it out of his noce, but he did also have a virus and some breathing trouble early on and I wanted to keep it clear. I am NOT sure that would be necessary, breastmilk is the best thing to snort IMO. It does FREAK a lot of people out and it has come out of his eyes once or twice!!!! that really looked weird, but it is all connected....congrats on your babe.

It still happens to DD (she's 14months) when I feed her lying down. It never happened to my first two. The Dr. did not seem to be alarmed, and it doesn't seem to bother her, but so much comes out, that I have to sit up at night and nurse her.
