I wonder if anyone has encountered such issue...
My sister lives abroad and where she lives they don't sell milk storage bags (or they do at a rediculously high price). She just had her baby last week, and i sent her 2 boxes of lansinoh bags (200 overall i think).
so she was asking me if it's ok to pump some milk and freeze it and then add more pumped milk to that same bag until its full... i didnt know what to tell her...
she also asked if it's ok to reuse those bags... i assume it's fine, they won't be sterelized anymore, but as long as they are clean, she probably can use it one or two more times. i wonder if i was right...
i will probably send her more once she starts running out, but just in case i wanted to ask you, mamas
thanx!

why does she need so many? That seems like a lot...

Anyway, adding more should be fine, so long as there's more frozen than what she's adding. Some places also say it should be cooled in the fridge, not warm, when she adds it.

The problem will be when she goes to thaw it, because she'll have to thaw the whole thing and then use it all in 24 hours, and can't refreeze it.

I suppose it can be done (reusing the bags) but I probably would avoid it as much as possible. There are cheaper bags out there other than Lansinoh (I used Gerber- had zipper); maybe she can order them online?
