i hope this is ok to post here..if not sorry heather..i understand if you need to remove it...anyway...

well, it's official i am 24 weeks preggo today. This is a huge milestone for me, as the hospital will resuscitate a baby at this point. I am still on complete hospitalized bedrest and will be here until i deliver. I am still dilated over 1 cm and 100% effaced as far as i know. They are really afraid to check me as my membranes are bulging and they are afraid to rupture me. They are doing another US today to see if laying upside down has gained me anything.
The nurse told me today that no one has ever come in bulging as early on as i was and made it this far..They used to fight over who would have me, because no one wanted to be on "when it happened". When i got here there perinatologist said it would take a miracle and gave me two days....that was now over 3 weeks ago
Jack is still having a horrible time adjusting to mama being gone and having to go to daycare, but for my own sanity i've had to force myself to disassociate from that. Laying here hysterically crying was not helping anyone anyway. Zoloft has been a godsend. And coming from someone that never even likes to take Tylenol that is saying alot. If there are any mamas thinking they might need it....i say seriously consider it...i really think it has saved my life.
I am now allowing myself to "feel attached" to this little girl, for obvious reasons i was not allowing myself to do so before.
I have had to give myself from the midwives over to the perinatologist and the team of obs...so no homebirth. I really wanted to have one, but i guess it was not in the cards for me. i am not really a medical intervention type of gal so this has all been more than a little much for me
but whatever it takes
we were waiting until viability to give her a name... we decided to call her Grace.
shhhh dont tell my family we are keeping it a secret
To keep on topic...what dipes work best on tiny tiny babies? anyone cd a preemie? what worked best for you?

As you have been since the first posting, you continue to be in my prayers.
I know your friendship with others who have been there is helping deal with this rough time.
It will soon be over and your angel will be here to hold, having taught you the lesson of how precious life is, she will be a huge blessing to you, not only in the ways a child is a blessing to allof us but in a way that only a mom of a preemie can understand. It is different. There are new feelings of joy and love that you will soon dicover.

You are a strong woman, it is very difficult what you are going through, you have made a huge accomplishment. Be proud of yourself, it is a difficult task as you know.

You daughter's name is beautiful. Same as my dd's middle name. We choose it only because it was through the Grace of God that she is here with us.

Right now my suggestion would be to stock up on preemie CPF's. In the NICU they will literally just lay a diaper on her depending on when she is born, and then only change every couple hours, less disturbing of her when she needs her rest. They will not want you putting regular diapers on her. This does of course depend on when she is born.
A good question to ask the staff is when do they start actully putting the diapers on the babies vs. laying them on the babies.
I'm sure you already have talked with her but I would contact www.lucyshopechest.com and www.tinytreasures.com

I will contnue to keep you are you 2 precious children in my prayers. You have come such a long way in a short period, a couple more weeks and you will be 40 and ready to deliver

Jenni - since we are talking about PREEMIE DIAPERS, I would say we are On Topic!

Momma - here - - - >> and

You have been through so much - and oh, what a perfect name for your precious little girl who wants to come into this world and be with her momma more than most - trying to push out early and all.

I would definitely say stick with Preemie cpfs and don't fret too much over fitteds until you can take that little of yours home to love on.

Rest | Relax | Enjoy feeling her within you and knowing that she is growing and holding out as long as she can.

Beautiful momma, my prayers are with you. Allow yourself a guilt-free time. You are doing all that you can and it sounds to me as if you are making the right decisions all the while.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are doing such a great job, and I know your daughter will be healthy and happy.

I love the name you've chosen for her - it's the same name we chose for our daughter. I'm sure it will be as fitting for your DD as it was for ours.

Hugs to you and your family, mama!

Grace is a sweet name for a little girl, I love it. Mike's cousin had a baby boy at 25 weeks and nowadays he is a very active preschooler. You would never know that he had been born so early! Back on topic, I think another mama here said that for their premie they got a pack of inexpensive washcloths and laid them folded in half in premie wraps (prowraps?).

Miracles do happen. Every day.

I met a woman at a LLL meeting a couple of years ago with 3 year old twins. One was delivered at 24 weeks and the other at 27 weeks. At the time they were healthy 3 year olds.

I hope everything works out for you and your family.

Jenni! I'm so glad you posted to let us know how you and Grace are doing! Grace is a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning (also my dd's middle name).

I second the preemie pfs. I'm using them for burp rags etc and they're just so tiny and soft.

I've been thinking about you and Jack... I hope he continues to adjust. Keep thinking positive thoughts! God bless...
