chiromama, my SIL's mom told me something when I was lamenting the fact that I had no idea how to raise strong, healthy, empowered women, given that my upbringing was so defeating. I was terrified to be raising 3 girls! She said, "I believe that we all look down before we're born, and choose to whom we want to be born. We decide what skill, or life lesson, or emotion our souls are lacking, and then find the couple most capable of fulfilling those desires in us. There are no mistakes. Your baby has come to you for a reason, and no matter how badly you think you mess up, you're doing what was expected and needed of you."<br><br>
