We are currently living in an older home (about 100 yrs. old). We have been looking into getting a modular home that would be easier to heat. I am very concerned with all of the composite wood and all the other glues and chem. that would be in a newer built home. Also, the home would be more air tight than this one is, which would mean that it would hold all of the VOC's in. The house we are in has mold in the basement, so which is worse. I wouldn't be putting carpet in the wood house, only hard wood floors (no laminate).

How bad is a new house anyway? And how long does it take to off gas the new stuff? Does anyone know?

Thanks a lot for your help.
