I'm about a month pregnant and I have a mole on my back which the doc wants to remove soon. I'm worried about this - for the foetus but also because I'm nursing my DS. Anyone else had moles removed whilst pregnant? Thanks.
I have had a mole removed, however, I wasn't pregnant. It takes about 90 seconds for the whole procedure. I remember they stuck a needed in to it to numb it, let it get numb and then came back and removed the mole and that was it. It was a very quick procedure. It took a few weeks to heal up and the mole hole was black for a while but that's it.
Have you called the physician that is doing the removal to ask what they use to numb you? I'm sure it will be fine.
It should be ok, b/c they just use a local to numb the area. I had a mole that needed to be removed, but was able to wait until after I had my baby to do it. Like the other pp said, it only takes a couple of minutes, it's a very quick, office procedure. What did your doctor say?
I had a mole removed from under my breast during this pregnancy. The doc used a very tiny amount of local. It was quick, painless and didn't cause me any problems.
I had a huge mole removed while pg. Mine was a bit more complicated cause it was so big and took a long time to heal. I would rather get it done early on in the pg than later when you are huge and uncomfortable. I really didn't think it was much different that cutting yourself and needing stitches. Me and baby were fine.
Yeah, I think I need to call up the doc to find out what will be used for numbing. Doc's not too communicative though. I think it's time to find another one. Thank you so much for everyone who replied. I do appreciate it.
