Interesting, very interesting. I will not be hiring a stripper for my sons 16th birthday. I can't really imagine thinking this was OK. As my husband sarcastically commented, "mother of the year"!

''Who are they to tell me what I can and can't show to my own children?'' the mother said.

I agree with her here TO A VERY LIMITED POINT, but there were other children there. I would be soooooooooo ticked if my child was at a party where this happened. What a stupid move!

My parents didn't buy me a skank or a pony for my birthday. :

I doubt THAT young man has been taught love & respect for women & will probably grow up & join the ranks of sexist mysoginistic men. : Soooo sad.

Weren't other peoples' children there, as well?

You know, I'm as sex-positive as the next girl and I would be hopping mad if anyone made this kind of entertainment available to my child.

And. I'm willing to bet that this woman has boundary issues with her son relating to sex. Pure conjecture, of course, but I'd bet a donut or two.

It would have been worse if the stripper was a school teacher moonlighting...I would have been afraid of that!

What an idiot! Now if she would have done that for her son alone, then maybe it would have been ok, but still eeewwww in my book. I would be LIVID if someone had my kid over and a stripper showed up. GMAB!

Seems like a slippery slope. I remember being about 13 and watching R rated movies with my mom and my friends... I wouldn't be surprised to see this kind of thing turn up in the news these days, either.

Darn, she couldn't wait two more years and hire a stripper for his 18th birthday?? :LOL

Just curious- how would you guys feel if it was the Dad who hired the stripper rather than the Mom? Still innapropriate, but would it still be wrong "on so many levels"?

Yes, it would still be wrong on ALL levels if the dad did this. Sixteen year-old boys don't need to be exposed to strippers. Period.

OK so she's not too bright...

But how did the drugstore people know the boy was only 16? Did the mom say "I'd like to get these photos of my son's 16th birthday developed"? Or was the boy wearing a giant "I'm 16" party hat?
