Help! I am not finding any support in my current hometown. I am a mostly SAHM, I work 2 days a week when my husband is off to watch my son. Don't care for the town we are in, and don't have family/friends nearby (within 45 min.) I also have a baby on the way in a few months and our house is on the market...that's my life in a few sentences.
I have just gotten through a few downer days feeling like there is no one out there to meet up with for a chat, cup of tea, play date, some crafting time, fieldtrip, etc.

Does anyone reading this have any recommendations for a moms/kids playgroup in or around the New Haven area (toward the shoreline preferably)? I am willing to travel within reason. I think I have exhausted the internet, and have gotten a few chilly responses from local groups found there. I could join a "stitch n' bitch" group to at least get some adult contact, but that leaves out my son, which isn't really what I want right now.

Alternately, does anyone want to start a group in this area? My son is a tad more than 2 and 1/2, and we are up for almost anything!!:

Hi Mama!

There are a couple of groups around:

1. Go to Meetup.com and look for the New Haven County Mom's PLaygroup
2. There's also the Connplaygroup on Yahoo Groups

I've never been to the Connplaygroup before, I just get the emails but I have met a couple of moms from the meetup group and they seem nice.

I have a group of moms (friends who happened to have babies the same time as me) who plan our own things. I live in Branford!!

Also, I love using the library as a resource; I've gone with DD (14 months old and I"ve met a couple of really great moms!!! I Haven't followed up with anyone yet but it's nice to sit and chat while we're there.

Also, I would check out Babycenter on the CT board; there's always moms on there looking to have playdates. I met one mom on that board and now we're friends!!!

Anyway, feel free to email me!!!!

OT Mama,
I just moved to Milford and am also looking for playgroups. I work part-time and have a 2+ year old and a 6 week old. We just moved here when the little one was 3 weeks old so I know a tad about the stress you are probably going through. I'd be more than happy to get together for some kid time or adult time.

PM me because life is crazy and I might not make it back to this thread anytime soon!
