A few questions for you! I have lost nearly 50 lbs since last spring, and I was wondering what the experiences have been of other moms who have lost, say 40+ lbs. I'll go ahead and do my answers. Don't leave me, hanging, girls!

1. How did your skin recover? Did you end up with excess skin anywhere?
My skin actually bounced back great! I am just 25 though, I think that has a lot to do with it. The only place I have a little excess skin is my boobs, but I think that's more to do with 2 pregnancies and nursing for a few years.

2. When you got to your goal weight, or near it, did you find you still had a tummy pooch or less-than-flat stomach?
I do, and it makes me nuts. I still wanna lose about 20 lbs, and I am guessing I will still have that pooch right up till the end, and maybe even still after. :

3. How are you maintaining your loss? Has it been difficult for you at all?
I am still in lose mode, not maintain yet.

4. Are you planning any more pregnancies?
Nope!

5. How much weight have you lost total? How many sizes?
48 lbs, went from a 16 to a 10 so far...hope to get in 8s this summer, maybe 6? eventually.

6. Do you still have trouble spots, where your body likes to store fat?
The aforementioned belly and upper arms!

7. What exercises have helped you with your weight loss?
My biggest help has been doing a combo of running and walking, cross-country. I go to a hilly park and run for a few minutes, then walk, then run. This took a few inches off my middle in just a month. It's too cold and snowy right now, so I'm doing an in-home walking DVD till spring.

8. How are you feeling physically after such a big loss? Emotionally?
I feel great physically. My diet is great, I have a different kind of energy. I don't get tired as much, I sleep better and need less sleep overall. Emotionally I feel good! I have more stable emotions, don't yell as much, etc.

9. Does it bother you when people make a big deal or talk about your weight loss, or do you enjoy the attention and praise?
I don't mind my husband saying he thinks I look cute or something, but other than that, I am uncomfortable with people talking about my weight as a conversational topic.

I'll answer....

1. How did your skin recover? Did you end up with excess skin anywhere?
My stomach skin is pretty shot, but I think that is due to pregnancy.

2. When you got to your goal weight, or near it, did you find you still had a tummy pooch or less-than-flat stomach?
I still want to loose 20ish lbs and still have the pooch.

3. How are you maintaining your loss? Has it been difficult for you at all?
I am still in lose mode, not maintain yet.

4. Are you planning any more pregnancies?

Not at the moment, but haven't ruled it out.

5. How much weight have you lost total? How many sizes?
50 lbs from high weight, went from an 18 to a 10 so far...I am comfortable in the 6-8 range

6. Do you still have trouble spots, where your body likes to store fat?
Spare tire/love handle area.

7. What exercises have helped you with your weight loss?
I run.

8. How are you feeling physically after such a big loss? Emotionally?
I have a ton more energy and I am happier and I sleep better.

9. Does it bother you when people make a big deal or talk about your weight loss, or do you enjoy the attention and praise?
I get an awful lot of comments whenever I go into the co-op. Comments like, "Wow, you are looking really good these days." This comments irritate me, because what people mean is that I've lost a lot of weight, but it makes it seem like I was looking really bad before. . I rarely make appearance/weight related comments for this reason, unless my opinion is solicited.

I lost 50 lbs. over the course of 1.5 years through Weight Watchers.

1. How did your skin recover? Did you end up with excess skin anywhere?
My skin was fine. It was pregnancy that had destroyed my stomach skin, actually. It never got its elasticity back.

2. When you got to your goal weight, or near it, did you find you still had a tummy pooch or less-than-flat stomach?
Yup, big pooch. I think it's permanent.

3. How are you maintaining your loss? Has it been difficult for you at all?
I gained 40 of the 50 pounds back. Took 1.5 years to lose, 4 months to gain. I am back on the wagon again. :sigh

4. No.

5. How much weight have you lost total? How many sizes?
Lost 50 lbs, went from size 20/22 to 14/16. Gained 40 lbs. back, am currently size 18. Want to eventually be size 12/14.

6. Do you still have trouble spots, where your body likes to store fat?
Lower belly, triceps, bum.

7. What exercises have helped you with your weight loss?
I walk every work day as part of my commute. I go to the gym 2-3/x per week and do an intense aerobics class, the elliptical machine, or the treadmill and stationary bike. I try to do a long walk or hike on one of the weekend days.

8. How are you feeling physically after such a big loss? Emotionally?
I felt great and proud for having lost the weight, and felt more fit. I am seriously disappointed at having regained, and am scared I will never keep the weight off, no matter how many times i lose it.

9. I don't like being the center of attention for anything, but I don't mind a brief compliment. Beats a brief insult![/QUOTE]

1. How did your skin recover? Did you end up with excess skin anywhere?
My skin is ok everywhere except my boobs and my stomach. I hate my tummy, but it has improved a bit. I think it takes time.

2. When you got to your goal weight, or near it, did you find you still had a tummy pooch or less-than-flat stomach?
I have a pooch, but I want to lose about 30 more lbs.

3. How are you maintaining your loss? Has it been difficult for you at all?
I am still in lose mode, not maintain yet.

4. Are you planning any more pregnancies?
Yes! And I am TERRIFIED lol

5. How much weight have you lost total? How many sizes?
I've lost about 48lbs too, from 210.5 back in August, to 162 right now. I was a size 18-20 and I am probably a size 12 now, all my 14s are very loose and look too baggy but I have no $$ for new clothes right now lol

6. Do you still have trouble spots, where your body likes to store fat?
belly, lovehandles

7. What exercises have helped you with your weight loss?
I have an elliptical at home, and I do that, weight training, mall walking, biking (in the summer I did anyways), biggest loser dvds

8. How are you feeling physically after such a big loss? Emotionally?
I am still walking fine lines. Almost binging, almost eating too much, etc. Fear of going all out and gaining my weight back.

9. Does it bother you when people make a big deal or talk about your weight loss, or do you enjoy the attention and praise?
Noone I know has been so rude as to make a HUGE deal out of it...I think it would be rude to gush over me now because it would basically be telling me how actually fat I was when everyone just told me I looked fine 5 months ago LOL
