Anyone know anything about this school? Good, bad..? I'm considering it as preschool for ds2 in the fall and would love feedback before I plunk down the non-refundable application $$. THANKS!

A friend had her daughter there until she started PS last fall. They both loved it. It's essentially Montessori, but the director has Emilio Reggia (sp?) training and the school is more arts oriented than most Montessori schools.

The school moved this year. I'm assuming the director and the program are the same.

We are finishing up our last couple weeks with MOA but its cause I quit my job to stay home, I would totally stay there if I were to keep working. dd has been in the infant/toddler program for a year. I really like that there has been no turn over during that time, the teachers get a lot of training, and the facility is really nice. I am not as familiar with the pre-school but beware that they are closed a lot, if your using this as daycare if you work, its really inconveinant. They are closed for all sorts of holidays and in-service training days, plus four weeks per year (xmas for two weeks, spring break, and summer break).

we really would have like to go there for day care, but could NOT afford it. it would have cost $1900/month for my two kiddos. I am sure it is great, but at that rate I certainly can't afford to work.

Kate, I think I may have seen you yesterday as you walked into Wild Oats at 15th/Fremont...was that you? I saw a familiar looking mama who was pregnant with a little girl in a stroller. We moved over that way at the end of last year. I know there are some MDC mamas around.

Kate,
No. I'm just looking for a preschool at present. One that would work with my son's need to master every thing in the freaking universe (yes, he's two). I'd like to get him used to the routine too in case I WOH eventually so its good to know about the breaks (those apply to full day too?).
PS MD - it's great to see you online! We're moving again (tomorrow actually). Over to 22nd and Knott/Fremont. Rented a big ol house. So you might see me at Wild Oats soon. And when your sub is over, e-mail me (had to get a new phone #) and bring the boys to play in our backyard :

Yes, I bet that was me! I'm moving to Hillsboro next week and I am starting to get nostalgic for this neighborhood! But I won't miss our steep stairs everytime I am hauling Ruby up them.

I know what you mean about how expensive MOA is, I couldn't afford two there, that's why I'm staying home now!

Fancypants, yes, the breaks apply to the whole school. I am really lucky my work was so flexible or else it wouldn't have worked out for us.
