<p>My daughter is almost one and I've begun to look at the two Montessori Schools near us (Chesapeake Montessori and Montessori International). She could start probably at 15-16 months. She goes to an NAEYC accredited day care now which I love but I'm wondering if Montessori is better overall. It's more $$ but still within our budget. Any thoughts on the Montessori approach and whether it's worth the extra?</p>

<p>I've been to open houses at both those Montessori's and have observed at one.  I think for your daughter's age, it would be good.  I personally didn't feel like it would be a good fit for my son who would be 3.5 next fall.  The class size is too big, the teachers weren't hands on enough, and I felt like the kids are mostly working independently and not learning together.  I didn't feel it was as nurturing as it could be.  I'm most likely going to send him to a Reggio school next year because I really like their philosophy. </p>
