You're right - that first one is hilarious! We buy tide, but they switched to the more concentrated kind. Great for the environment, but terrible for my pocketbook because my STBX still uses it like it was not concentrated. So every couple of days, I add cupfuls of water to the bottle.

"Microwave your pen for 10 seconds to get the last of the ink out"?

Lol, is that even safe?
I'm pretty darn cheap but I'm no where near that cheap. And can't you find pens for free all over the place?

I'm going to assume that this is a tip for people that buy special astronaut pens that can write under water or something super special like that

I know that the big consumer goods companies made the move to compact bottles filled with concentrated detergent for ostensibly enviromental reasons but I also suspect they *know* some consumers will use just as much detergent as if it wasn't concentrated and therefore have to purchase these bottles more frequently. Good for their bottom line.

Yay, Consumerist, one of my other fave websites. I pretty much already practice most of the "use half or dilute things to make them last longer" ideas - tear paper towels in half, dilute shampoo, use less than the recommended capful of Listerine...I'll have to try drying my disposable razor and see if that makes the blade last longer.

MY Dh totally does this one:

In the summer when you want an iced latte, but don't want to spend $5 order an 'iced doppio' which costs $2 and add your own milk. In the iced drinks they don't steam the milk, so you're paying $3 for them to put it into your glass for you.
It tastes better too b/c it's stronger.
