In Northern MN, the majority of people still circ. I do all I can to educate my friends/family.

My bff from h.s. now lives in CA, and dates an intact guy from France. It came up one time and I got to educated her about what circing does. She's sold. She and our sisters (they are bff's, too) had a good, old fashioned sleepover last week and circing came up. My sister thinks I'm a nut case, but when she saw my bff also on the bandwagon, I think it gave things a bit more credibility. And, the other sister got to hear some good info, too

THEN, my cousin just got married to a guy who has an intact nephew. I had discussed it with them in the past a bit, too. It came up how I'm a 'hippie', (lol-this is what my sister calls me now), and I mentioned one of the reasons was because I'll be leaving any sons intact. My cousin said something about how they'll be doing the same thing. And, her sister was there and got to here all of this, too.

So, no babies anywhere yet (well, except my dd), but if they are boys, they'll all probably be intact! Woohoo

You know Theresa, what you have done is great! You see, my theory is that a big part of the reason circumcision continues is that it just isn't talked about. Consequently, it then doesn't get thought about. Not talked or thought about, people just end up doing it without knowing the hows and whys, just because it is what is done. KWIM?

You have taken the first step to getting all those ladies to actually give it a thought (other than the thought to just DO it in the first place.) You have planted a seed, so to speak, that may just grow in the minds of some of those women and turn into something great!

Now, throw on a little water and fertilizer once in a while when the moment is right. Watch out for the dirt clumps you may run into

Baby steps, baby steps...

Congrats on doing a great job!!

Yay!!! I hope the people I've talked to about it are starting to reconsider their decisions with regard to circumcising the baby boys they're expecting.

Three more intact future baby boys is wonderful! Keep up the good work!!!

Hi,

it's late here, I'm tired, so i hope you don't mind if my reply is short.

Paminmi I couldn't agree with you more! Seeds. I am always dropping seeds everywhere i go, hoping they will sprout someday. Dialogue is so critical if we are to win this battle. Getting the subject out in the open, is key.

Thanks to the OP for her great efforts to do this and thanks to Paminmi for saying what you said, so well.

Yes, what a profitable conversation for a group of women to engage in!! Instead of the usual, shoes, makeup, dates talk, for sure. Something that could make a profound difference in the lives of some boys that aren't even dreamed about yet.

I had a call today from a woman who wants me to attend her soon upcoming birth. I told her I wouldn't be avail from Aug 23 to 27 because I'd be down in Seattle at a big conference to end circumcision. She said "oh that sounds like a great conference, lucky you." Then she said that her son is circ'd and she knows for sure that she's having another boy. I said "Oh that's such a shame that you didn't know better for your oldest but, at least, this one will be intact." She said "Oh I know that I hate circ but my husband will want both boys to be the same." I simply said "That won't happen. I'll give you lots of information about it and he'll change his mind."
I guess I'm getting to a place where I have absolutely zero tolerance for circ and I don't even give a darn about what the parents are saying, they just can't do it, that's all.
