Someone in the last couple days posted about RFID tags and this site <a href="http://www.boycottgillette.com." target="_blank">www.boycottgillette.com.</a> Here is another recent article about the tags involving a symposium that has excluded consumer/privacy advocates. <a href="http://www.globeandmail.ca/servlet/story/RTGAM.20030916.gtrfidsep16/BNStory/Front/" target="_blank">http://www.globeandmail.ca/servlet/s...BNStory/Front/</a>

I called Gillette, and informed them I will not buy any of their products. I no longer go to Wal-Mart either. Fooey on them.

Very confusing stuff!<br><br>
Accd to snopes:<br><a href="http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/rfid.asp" target="_blank">http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/rfid.asp</a><br><br>
The "trial" is not occuring in the US, but there seemed to be so much contradictory info out there.<br><br>
Pictures? One article said yes, others just mentioned inventory info. Range? One article said a few feet another said it could still be working in your home, others mentioned using them as a tracking system for inventory cross country.<br><br>
They were mostly being compared to UPC codes, which I have no problem with. And if they were not taking pictures or being tracked into homes (because that was impossible) I think it could be a good thing for the reasons mentioned (less transportation costs, get rid of expired/recalled merchandise easier).

"Yet" being the operative word. Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't mean it won't happen. RFID's are already being tested in Brochton, MA.
