My dh just heard on NPR that the companies that make Flu vaccines......want to lower the age requirements/recommendations for it, bc they are having to throw away alot of vaccines this year.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=4230931

Hmmmmmm........I thought there was a shortage (at least they said that at the beginning of flu season) Or was that just a way to get people in hysterics about getting them.

This just proves to me that its all a money making venture for them.........it has nothing to do with safety or health concerns of people.

okay....off my

I toaltaly avoided the flu this year by taking extra vit C Echenechea and upping the anti oxident rich foods. I wonder if this info was made public on the national new stations what the vax cos would do with all those vaxes.

I just no one gets the shot when they see the levels are down, there is extra of the vax and really it is not necessary--what a great thing that would be. Imagine that correlation.

Do you know when flu season officially ends? Or is there a general time? We have avoided it too (even though according to the CDC flu acitivity page my state it the only one where it is currently widespread)>

We have not got it here with good diet and taking care of ourselves

My Dad advised I keep up with what I am doing till march, although now that the flu has cleared up at our house I'm going to eat a few sugary Christmas treats, LOL. But since sugar lowers your immune systems abliity to fight stuff off, I am still going to be carefull.

DH and I got the flu this year(DD avoided it thanks to her mama milk!) and DH was even able to work every day that he was sick (he truly can't NOT go to work, unfortunately, otherwise the business he works for will literally shut down!). However, we only each had it for 3 days total and it wasn't so bad. DH got the worst flu of his life right after his first and only flu vaccination.

I think I heard that there was a shortage, but now there's extra because people didn't think they could get it so they gave up. Sounds fishy to me...
