I don't check this area much so I didn't see your post until today. I live in Moses Lake and unfortunately there aren't many places to shop for organics. Walmart has some. Food pavilion also has some stuff. Both those places tend to have a small section of organic produce and then organic versions of other products mixed in. There is a store called the Settlers Market in Ephrata (20 miles from Moses Lake) that has quite a bit of stuff. They are a natural food market, but they are still very small. They have been open a few years and a little by little they get more stuff. There is also a small health food store in Moses Lake, but they sell mostly supplements. Although they have food items. There is a great farmers market in the summer that you can get produce. Not all the produce is organic though. But there is some.

I hoped that helped.

Spokane would be the closest place to really shop if you can't find what you need there. Huckleberry's is a natural food store here. My grandparents lived in Odessa and would travel to either Spokane or Moses Lake to go grocery shopping.

OMG.... did I read correctly there is some one else on this board who lives in Moses Lake (aka moses hole???!!!??) and there last name is ******..... this is so strange I almost thought this post was mine!!!!

My last name is also ****** and I too just moved to this area three months ago.... I'm way excited! I have one son who is 6 months old and I live with my husband and sister. My aunt owns Woody's here in town, and I have several non natural type relatives around the town.

I think that Safeway has some decent produce that is organic but pricey. Just so you know there is also a good natropath here in town, we have seen here a couple times. She also is a LM, which I'm so excited about, not that I'm pregnant but I am planning. Please please please write me back. I'm so excited to hear of other mommies like me in the area!!!!

You may want to try sending a private message to some of the posters upthread, in case they don't check back in this forum. Good luck! I'm not from there, just pass though on the way to visit family in Spokane.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread...my parents internet was shut-off then I moved on Sunday and just got the DSL box last night....now I am all set up...I actually live 45 minutes away from Moses Lake but that's the place where I will be doing my shopping since the town I live in is so small.

I'm glad to see that there are other people from here that live around me! I'm an NMY right now but I do have a step-son that lives in the area and once DH is home we are gonna start TTC.

Thanx for the info!

What town do you live in? Are you in the Wilson Creek area? I like the moses lake area, but wished there were more places to shop for natural foods. A Whole foods store or Coop would be good. I'm excited to see more natural mamas in the area. Most of the parents I know are very mainstream. Welcome to the area.

I live in Lind, Moses Lake is the closest "major" city to me. I wish they would open a Whole Foods in Moses Lake...I used to live next to two of them and 2 PCC Natural Markets.

I have decided that I will probably have to order some things online, which to me is an ok trade for living in a much better community.

I've never been to lind and didn't know it was that far away. I would love to live by a whole foods market. I bet it was great. I hope you enjoy the area, dispite our lack of whole food stores.

Forgot to mention that when you have a baby, there is a great natural baby store in town. I buy my kids soaps and shampoos there. they have diapers (both natural disposables and cloth), covers, toys and anything else you might need. It's great. I could spend a ton of money in there if I had it.

I'm not sure if that is the one. The store I am talking about is in Moses lake and is called Baby Naturally. It is on 3rd Ave.

I know how that is. My dog was my baby until my girls moved in. Now he sleeps in my sister's room because he is scared of the girls. I was a bad doggy mama. I didn't socialize him properly. He is getting better, but it is a slow process.

And I have relatives still in Odessa.. I can meet up with ya anytime this summer if you like.
