I have a bunch of Motherease dipes which work well enough but the covers are sooo not very cute and I would like to get some fun, cute covers for them. They are kinda bulky on 6mos old dd (about 14 and a half pounds) so what would folks recommend for nonwicking, breathable, easy to care for (read: not wool) and CUTE?!

Bumkins has some cute prints. Not everybody likes the material, and it took a while for me to get used to (kinda feels like a windbreaker), but poop rinses off easily, they are trim, and have a vent in back for breathability (although not quite sure how well that works).

We have the MEOS too and the Bummis didn't fit well over them for us. Don't know if that's just my dd or the cover!

Oh, and then I ruined them with vinegar... so total bust on the bummis for me!

Here's hoping it works out better for you if you go with 'em!!

I just bought a bummis super snap to try out and I find that it does not fit well over our Mother Ease. However, I have the ME airflow covers in the whale print and I think that they are very cute!

What we need is for some artsy smartshy mama here to tell us how to snazz up our ME air-flos.... I just can't think of a cover I've found more reliable and leakproof, which is why I still have their very boring presence in my cover collection. I'd be thrilled if we could tye-dye one. Anyone? Anyone??

What about some cute WAHM covers like Lucy's Hope Chest. They're side snapping, same sort of shape as the Air Flo cover so should work but you've got the choice of a ton of cute prints.

On the same topic, I bought an Rikki wrap to try out and it was the weirdest, most horrible cover I've ever seen. It must be cut to go with the motherease diapers because it sure didnt work well over a trifolded prefold. I thought the fabric was really flimsy and poor as well. I think you'd love a WAHM cover or two.

Well, I just love my ME Airflow cover. I love the poofiness of it and the classic white. I think ds looks like the pictures of the babies in Dr. Sears' books.

Its the best pul cover I've had.

But, back to your question. Check out this thread. A mama colored up some of her proraps... maybe it would work on a ME cover...

http://mothering.com/discussions/sho...hreadid=126402

I spiced up some pro-wraps by using foam stamps and fabric paint. The stamps were $4 for the entire alphabet (2 inch letters) and $1 for biger stamps (4-6 inches). paint was $3 for 8 small pots (you know like the ones that come with paint by number kits - but these were fabric paints) anyway, smeared on the stamp with a q-tip press gently, fill in any holes and let dry. they turned out duper cute. I am sure motherease covers would work just as well.

My favorite breathable cover is the alexis side snapping cover. They don't make them any more but if yoiu look around you can find them used or you can can fins something simila. It is like the mother ease but lighter and somewhat see through. I dyed my mother ease so under those covers you get a pailer version of the diaper cover. and they are so trim.

Thanks so much everyone! That's just the information I was looking for. Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I usually get email notices of a reply but I didn't on this one so here I was sad that nobody had replied. Ha-how wrong I was! Thanks again. I think I am going to try Lucy's Hope Chest as a friend had some dipes from there and they looked great.
