I've only read Mothering your nursing toddler--and its AWESOME. I'm not even thinking of weaning yet, plus How weaning happens is always checked out of our LLL library!
I've only read MYNT and I thought it was great. Extensive quotes from Kathryn Dettweiler's research into worldwide weaning ages and nursing habits. Lots of support and a chapter for dads, too.
You know, I always suggest to people to get books from the public library. Thanks for the reminder Geofizz!
I have the ability to check my library's inventory on the internet. They had Mothering your Nursing Toddler, but not how weaning happens.
I went to the library and checked out Mothering Your Nursing Toddler. The only downside to it is that it is an old edition from 1980. I have already read the book and loved it! It is very encouraging towards EBF which was what I was looking for. It had a lot of great info and I feel like it has helped me see around the corner as to what to expect over the next year, and beyond.
The title is perfect since it is a book about using your breasts to mother your child. I think this is a great book for all that plan to EBF and best for mother's unsure of weather they should.
I also picked up Our Babies Ourselves. I plan to dive into that today.
I love Mothering Your Nursing Toddler. I have read and re-read portions of it over the last year and a half. It's a good pick-me-up when things get rough.
How Weaning Happens didn't do much for me. Apparently not, because DS is still nursing at 30 months...
I checked out "Our Babies, Ourselves" from out LLL Library like 3 or 4 times! Love that book. I should probably just break down and buy the darn thing!
