This is so true. I can't tell you how often people look at us like we're nuts when I refuse the straws they give out all the time. Oh and the looks we get when I pull out my glass straws. Although the other night the waiter complimented us on the glass straws. He thought they were a great idea.

I'm actually in a cloth diapering supply coop. We just had a coop on them. But they come from DharmaGlass:

Right now they are having a free straw giveaway. They send you a coupon for a free straw. You don't have to order anything else. I think you might have to pay the shipping. Ive seen some on etsy as well.

I think they are great. I got some of the ones with the colored bumps on them first. And then the next time she did a coop, I got longer straws and some that are bigger around for thick drinks like frozen coffee or milkshakes. I usually keep two in my car most of the time. I made a padded roll to store them in. I can just roll it up and throw it in my bag if I want to take the whole thing out.

We have bounced ours off of metal table legs and a concrete floor. They do sometimes break, but the company gives a lifetime warranty to replace for free. That is if you break them, if you dont like them or whatever reason, they will replace or refund your money.
