Does anyone know what is in this and if it's okay to drink it during pregnancy? I'm nursing my 9 mo and he's beginning to get royally ticked off over the decreased supply. :

I've heard it's a no-no. But I don't have any evidence to back it up... just remember reading that a while back. My toddler is starting to wean due to the decreased supply. Sad.

It has both fenugreek and fennel in it I believe, which are both contraindicated in pregnancy for possibly stimulating uterine contractions. I know that there is a list on kellymom which shows which herbs are contraindicated (and fenugreek is one of them for sure!).

Dr. Jay Gordon's website has some herbal recommendations for stimulating supply which include herb caps - marshmallow, blessed thistle, and nettle. One of the three (maybe nettle) can cause uterine contractions. Search for nursing/pregnancy.

I take all three, 2 of each twice a day. I have not had a problem with contractions.

Also, make sure your fluid intake is adequate to thirst and try eating a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast if you can.
