Does anyone follow this? Today is steam all carpet, WTH? We hire this out : But even then it takes the guy a good 2-3 hours for just the living room and hallway, he's here for 3-4 if I throw in the bedrooms, that is him who knows what he is doing and has all the big time equipment. I don't even want to think about how long it would take me to do with out carpet steamer.

Would it be cheating to book my next cleaning and check it off

Def. not cheating, IMO. We usually hire someone to do it too. The neighborhood we're in now does a group buy sort of thing twice a year for much cheaper than regular rates. We do borrow my mil's carpet cleaner for in between touch-ups though.

Oh, I could do all ours in one day (and have!), but our place is not that large. but it's a dreary day here today, so I'm not doing it yet, plus I did is somewhat recently already. I have to wait for a sunny day so it dries quickly and I do prefer to break it down between a couple days.

And definitely not cheating to make the call and check it off. The important thing is it gets done eventually, right?

definitely not cheating! We've only got two bedrooms with carpet, the rest of the house is hardwood, so it doesn't take me very long to do the steam clean, but if I had a whole house full of carpet you can be SURE I wouldn't be doing it myself.

I say you should just rip out all the carpet and cover your floors with pavement. Then you don't even have to worry about taking your shoes off. I heard that you shouldn't use water on your carpets because it doesn't fully dry fast enough to prevent mold from growing, then you stir it up evertime you vacuum.
I haven't actually researched it though, I can't help that they clean the apartment's capets evertime someone moves out.

Hahaha! Makes me so glad I don't have any carpet whatsoever!

But then again, I didn't even pull out my weekly Motivated Moms sheet until I saw this thread, so I'm basically useless anyway...

It has been weeks since I looked at my list. I came by to see what was on today's list. My guess was dust all the lightbulbs.

I have my mom doing MM too. She loves Wednesdays because her youngest is 30 (no clipping nails for her ) Is that still there this year? I bet if I printed out the list my house would be one step closer to clean.
