Hi ladies!

Our daughter just turned a month old yesterday; we have been CDing since birth and loving it! She's a serious chunker and it looks like we're going to be heading into mediums a little earlier than expected, so I come seeking guidance from ye wise ones!

So far, we have used mainly prefolds (premium infant, cpf and ipf) and covers (proraps and siww), with the occasional fb, wonderoo, or bum-ware aio (LOVE them!) thrown in for good measure. As you can see, we're pretty simple (a plus for pf ing dh).

Getting the prefolds around dd's chubby belly is proving more and more difficult, and I find myself frustrated by the shape of them. As I look into making my next big purchase of a medium stash, are there other things I should be considering? I'm not sure if I should just go with another round of prefolds and covers or if I should be trying fitteds or something else as well. Unfortunately, cost is a factor. Hopefully she'll stay in the next size a bit longer, so I can justify spending a little more.

Please share your opinions and recommendations! Thanks in advance!

I'd say she will be in meds for quite a while. MY DD is 20 months, and still wears MEds in most brands. If I were you, I would try some different fitteds/aios from the TP to see what I liked. Stick w/ using the PFs as the backbone of your stash until you can find something you like, and that fits well. If there is something that you are using now that you really like, then get some of those, and work on adding to your stash whenever you can afford another one (or two).

yOU COULD ALWAYS TRY a trifolded infant cpf in a medium bummis cover.
If it works you'd only need to replace covers. If you buy any medium pockets an infant cpf fits great inside. You can use those forever!

I bet you'd like fitteds. I found cpf's were great when DS was a newborn/small infant.......but later the cpf's just didn't fit as well.

For cost factors you could always go for some one-size diapers (would probably fit her perfectly now) or a 2-size system.

Some of the ones I like.......

One Size-
Motherease One Size
Muttaqins (a little more pricey, though)

2-size system-
Sugar Peas
Absorbitalls

All of those diapers are easily accessible, work well, hold up well, and are affordable.

And have you considered wool? Wool is great!

My favorites....(work great and affordable)....

Sugar Peas wool (about $20 each)---LOVE them!
BJ Marketplace Soakers (about $20 each)

Have fun!
